Raiders suffer second straight league defeat
It was the second time that the Raiders had lost to promoted opposition after suffering a home defeat to Old Elthamians in their first league game.
Worthing player Matt Farnes feels it has not been the best of starts for his side and said: “It’s not at all what we wanted from our first two games of the season.

Hide Ad“We knew coming up against two newly promoted side’s would not be an easy task, but we would have hoped for better in both matches.
“We did not perform well enough in the first hour or so and only really got going with 15 minutes left and it was too late then.
“It is a really big week for us now and we will focus on Canterbury at home.
“Our second team had a really good win so there couls well be a few changes for our next match.”

Hide AdIt was the host who began the brighter and took an early lead, as Matt Noble kicked a penalty to make it 3-0.
Matt McLean drew Raiders level with a penalty of their own soon after.
Noble converted his second kicking oppurtunity of the afternoon to put his side 6-3 ahead.
Dorking then extended their lead as Ryan Jeffrey touched down and Noble converted.

Hide AdWill Crow then got a try of his own and Noble converted to make it 18-3.
Joe Marchant touched down with ten minutes remaining and Matt McLean made no mistake with the conversion, but it proved to be late as Raiders fell to a second straight defeat.
