Burgess Hill ready for big FA Cup tie at Fleet
After defeating Eastbourne Town and Croydon the Hillians now play the Hampshire side who they have played on many occasions in the Ryman League in the last decade until they were transferred over to the Southern League Central Division in 2011
Manager Ian Chapman said” Saturday see’s us take a break from the league for another big FA Cup game against Fleet Town. It’s a fixture I’m sure that both sides feel if they play well will have a chance of progressing to the next stage”.

Hide AdAs I’ve said before it’s a massive game due to the magic of the FA Cup but more importantly the financial rewards for Club’s at our level. We will be travelling to Fleet to do our utmost to be in the hat come Saturday evening”.
Hillians will be without Club Captain Darren Budd who is away until 3rd October and Chris Breach who is at a wedding.
The winners of the tie will pick up the £4500 prize money and progress through to the 3rd Qualifying Round, just two games off the 1st Round proper.
Saturday’s 1-0 win over Herne Bay saw Hillians longest serving player, Neil Watts, make his 300th first team appearance for the Club. After making his debut in 2004, he has been an ever-present in the side over the last 10 years apart from two short spells away from the Club at Eastbourne Town and Horsham YMCA.
In the last few weeks Hill regulars Sam Fisk and skipper Darren Budd have also reached milestones with both reaching 100 first team appearances.
