This week it was mainly the Burgess Hill ladies that took up the headlines for the club, starting last weekend with the St Lawrence Fair Fun Run, a 5 mile course taking in the notorious Wolstonbury Hill and organised by the club’s very own Benny Coxhill.

Fay Roberts was pleased with her time of 46:07 which made her the first place lady and came with a nice big shield for her achievement. Catherine Kempton, also from Burgess Hill Runners was second placed lady with a time of 49:02. James Collins will also be pleased, representing Burgess Hill’s men finishing in second place overall with a time of 34:43, followed by Archie Kempton with a time of 40:44 continuing his recent fine form. Ex Burgess Hill members faired well with Jonathan Cawthra finishing 8th and Paul Prosser finishing 33rd accompanying his son, George. There was also a shorter course of 1.5 miles for the youngsters and BHR were pleased to boast second and third places courtesy of Ben Herbert (13:39) and Jonny Hill (14:36).
