Basketball: D&D challenge is done and dusted for Pirates
After a brief delay because of an absent official, the game started with both teams playing high-pressure defence causing both sides to turn the ball over early while exchanging baskets.
Matt Wakeling started out strongly contributing at both ends and ending the quarter with six points to leave the score 16-13 in Bognor’s favour.

However with three minutes to go in the quarter, a scoring flurry from Kev Wilson helped the Pirates open up a 16-point gap – 36-20 at the halfway point.
The third quarter opened with Bognor taking control. Good team passing and some excellent screens allowed for some easy baskets as well as some excellent shot blocking by Luke Atfield.
The third quarter ended in another scoring run for Pirates with Worthing struggling to score and Pirates’ man-on-an defense forcing Worthing to take longer shots.
The fourth quarter started with Bognor leading 53-28 and Worthing continued to have trouble scoring.
