According to the Southern Rail website, disruption to the network is expected to last until 1pm.
In an update before 11.30am, Southern said: "Services are currently unable to run between Three Bridges and Horsham in both directions. You will need to use an alternative route this morning and leave an extra 45 minutes to complete your journey.
"If possible, please delay travelling until after 1pm. If you are travelling now, it will be quicker to use Metrobus services to/from Gatwick Airport to connect with other train services.
