Students dance with talent act
The visit was a prize for the committed voluntary work the students had put in to win the skill swap competition this summer, run by the Abbeyfield charity, which aims to improve the quality of life for older people.
Samantha Wood, PR and marketing officer for Abbeyfield, said: “We wanted to raise the profile of volunteering in general and how beneficial it can be.”

Samantha said: “They were really nice and happy to stop for photos and sign autographs. One of the volunteers was over the moon as it was someone she had voted for.”
Students earned the prize by putting together a Skill Swap event at their local Abbeyfield House. They showed some of the residents how to use the computers, and stay in touch with relatives around the world.
More than 150 students at the Westloats Lane school were given an exclusive performance of the duo’s new dance routine and pupils were also given an hour-long dance workshop.
