Staff forced to tackle Chichester hospital fire

HOSPITAL staff at St Richard’s Hospital, in Chichester, were forced to extinguish a blaze at the site this earlier today (Friday, May 15).

A portable piece of hospital equipment caught fire at about 5.10pm.

Hospital staff used a CO2 extinguisher to quell the blaze, which fire service officials described as ‘small’.

A fire crew from Chichester was called to the scene.

However, by the time they arrived, the blaze had been extinguished.

Officers left the hospital at about 5.35pm.
