Rye firefighters will once again be playing Santa on Christmas Day delivering presents in the town and surrounding villages.

People can pay £2 for a present to be delivered on the big day by Father Christmas and all money raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity.

Presents can be dropped off at the fire station in Ferry Road, Rye, tomorrow (Christmas Eve) between 9am and 3pm ready for delivery.

Presents can be delivered to Rye, Rye Harbour, Iden, Playden, Camber, Winchelsea Beach and Winchelsea town.

Rye firemen have been providing the popular Christmas Day delivery for more than 10 years, raising hundreds of pounds for charity.

Rye firefighter Chris Jenner said: “It is not easy to find someone to volunteer their time on Christmas Day but we have been able to do this year after year, thanks to the enthusiasm and willingness of the local crew.”

The Fire Fighters Charity provides services enhancing the quality of life for serving and retired firefighters and their families.
