At the top is Leicester, with 140.2 cases per 100,000 people. A local lockdown has been implemented there this week.
In neighbouring West Sussex, the rate was 3.3. And in Brighton and Hove, it’s reported as 5.2.

It emerged earlier this week that the data published by the Government on its coronavirus webpage every day, which includes a regional breakdown of the figures, only included the results from pillar one.
These new figures from PHE therefore give a more accurate picture of which areas are worst affected across the country.
