Cranleigh school celebrates victory in battle for new crossing

Local residents, along with pupils and staff of St Joseph’s Specialist Trust - which cares for autistic students - also waged a years-long campaign for a 30mph speed limit on Amlets Lane, Cranleigh.
More than 500 people signed a petition to get the speed limit lowered.

Hide AdWaverley Local Committee finally gave the go-ahead in 2018 - and the speed curb and crossing have now come to fruition.
Local Councillor Liz Townsend, who had garnered support from the committee, joined St Joseph’s headteacher Simon Jaggard at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark installation of the new crossing and now-established lower speed limit.
