Swimarathon to aid worthy causes
Half the money raised through sponsorship will be donated to a Lions District project which is raising £250,000 to purchase night vision equipment for a new Air Ambulance helicopter to service the Horsham area.
The other half of the money raised will go to a good cause of the swimmers’ choice. Sponsorship is based on the total number of lengths swum by the whole team.

Hide AdThe Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance currently respond to 1,500 calls (daylight) per year. There are a further one to two each night that they cannot respond to with the helicopter although they do respond to some by sending the duty doctor and paramedic by road - subsequent transfer to hospital has to be by ambulance. In the past some cases were transferred by police helicopter (from Essex Police) but this has virtually stopped due to police financial cutbacks and increased use for police purposes.
