LETTER: This outfit couldn't run a whelk stall
I suppose we have to hope that the ticket machines do not break down and that staff on the barriers can answer questions and supply ticketing advice that was previously supplied by ticket office staff.
Under the control of GTR, we are seeing the service crumble. More trains breaking down, services cancelled as the company refuses to pay overtime to staff who took industrial action against the company`s cuts, trains so overcrowded that fatalities would be likely in the event of an accident.
How long will it be before even the Tories recognise that this outfit couldn`t run a whelk stall, let alone a railway?
