Oil on road closes A259 after two accidents
OIL on the road is thought to have been responsible for two morning rush-hour crashes in a space of a few hundred yards.
Police have closed the A259 at Little Common Road from Sutherland Avenue to Little Common roundabout and called for a gritter lorry to make the road safe.
The first accident shortly before 7am involved a Ford Escort van and a motorcycle on the Denbigh bends.

Hide AdThe second, involving a Mercedes sports car and a motorcycle, occurred as traffic from the first accident built up on the trunk road just west of the Knebworth Road junction.
The rider involved in the first accident was taken to the Conquest Hospital by ambulance for a check-up.
