He launched the 2016 campaign with strong criticism of the sitting Labour Hastings Borough Council.

Mr Perry said it is important to be open to new developments where appropriate, but the council failed to use the local plan to build social housing along the new link road between Hastings and Bexhill.
“When we realise this we can see why folk on the housing list throw their arms up in despair,” he said.
