East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called out to assist the RSPCA in rescuing a stag stuck in an electric fence in Vines Cross earlier today (Wednesday, February 17).

Crews received the call at around 11:35am to reports of the stag, thought to be around a year old, with his antlers stuck in an electric fence and barbed wiring, near Nettlesworth Lane.

A fire engine from Heathfield was sent to the scene, along with the animal rescue unit from Crowborough.
