A section of Bexhill town centre has been taped off by police.

Officers have closed off the alleyway between Scissors Cut and Caffé Roma, in Western Road, which connects to Parkhurst Road, behind Boots.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police were called to Western Road in Bexhill-on-Sea at 11.19am on Thursday (February 18) to a report of loud shouting and banging from a flat at the location.

“A man had climbed out on to a flat roof, but engaged with officers and returned inside around 12.50pm.”

Three police cars were at the scene.

The incident has now ended, according to an eyewitness.
