Adur and Worthing vehicle security warning: 'High numbers of insecure cars'

Adur and Worthing Police said officers from the neighbourhood policing team have been working on car security ‘over the past couple of nights’ – making sure cars are safely locked up.
A spokesperson said: “Previous audits have found quite high numbers of insecure cars, sadly it only took one minute to find our first insecure car, owner was notified and the car secured.

Hide Ad"In around sixty minutes several hundred cars were checked, only seven were found to be insecure, some with valuables, that would be a good night for someone intent on stealing from cars. Please don’t make it easy for car criminals and check your car is locked properly.”

The main tips are to; lock your vehicle; keep the keys safe; be aware of carjackers; park responsibly; watch for illegal tow trucks; fit good in-car security lock; double-check electronic locking; before owning, check for cloning and secure your port.
